This is the second videos in our series looking at how you complete a basic setup of a Synology router. In this video we take a closer look at the ports, switches and slots on a Synology RT1900ac router.
As the Synology router does not have a built in modem we are using a BT Openreach Huawei Echolife HG612 3B FTTC VDSL Fibre Modem. We expect a typical household to use their broadband for video streaming, music streaming, downloading, playing online, internet browsing. It is for this reason that we use a unlimited fibre broadband connection as it can handle these types of services simultaneously. The modem in the video was provided by the UK internet service provider, Plusnet.
Plusnet provided the cheapest Unlimited Fibre broadband service when compared with Sky, BT and Virgin ( Please note that this statement was correct at the time of posting and may no longer be applicable ).
